If HTC does not see Singapore as its target market, there is also no point to support them.

Exactly the point. In this telco controlled market, many of us are still gonna buy phones at a subsidised rate. HTC flagships are not cheap off contract to start off with anyways.

If there are no support from HTC nor the telco, the brand is doomed.

It's not about supporting well known brands. It's about which brand will take on HTC shoes. By the looks of it now it seems like
Oppo will be the one. But who knows for sure?

Huawei is more likely. It has the financial muscle and it also partners with the telcos on other projects. it is a telecom company by itself.

Currently using xiaomi, if HTC10 is not around, I will get the Mate 8 or P9(if in time). It is still unique among the button phone all around you.
WTF still presses down 2mm deep that physical button where everywhere you touch is glass. Fruit and 三星 milk the sheep for 10 years for that un-ergonomic design.

My exact thoughts as you. The company replacing HTC is Huawei. Am also looking at the P9 maybe Mi5.

Several Malaysian users had got their set today from a 3rd party reseller
Quite pricy S$1.1k for 32gb n S$1.2k for 64gb
Only for those who just cannot wait for the official set n no idea too whether HTC will even bring it in to Malaysia

Quite strange for HTC to omit SEA completely. If just SG due to our market size, can understand but for the whole of SEA is quite a dumb move IMO. SG, MY TH and ID are huge phone markets.

Managed to get my hands on a demo set at taipei airport last night. Only the silver though. For me, HTC will always make the best Android phone but sadly I have left Android for Apple because HTC has time and time again, screwed their customers here.

I'm skipping the G5 already so I was betting on HTC 10, the specs and build looked pretty decent...whats next then?

Noticed something, there is a pre-order button on HTC SEA website now, not sure it was there before. Clicked on it, shows page not found though.

Can buy the phone at off contract, and get a sim only phone plan, like m1 mysim plan? So in long run can save some $$
