HTC leadership have some serious problem that indirectly result in its current state, when other OEMs have tons of money and budget to play with, they have none, that why you see Chinese OEMs (Huawei, Oppo, Xiaomi etc) across their straits overtaking them with Chinese govt backing too, they have nothing in China (one big piece of pie that they cannot eat), Korean chaebols, LG and Samsung with S.Korea government backing and the premium Apple up there.

Sadly Taiwan government is also another lousy one that don't back up own brand and recently if you see the recent news, they cannot even maintain their international airport that can flood in heavy rain, they only kpkb in their parliament, fight, throw chairs between blue and green but nothing is done.

huawer oppo n xiaomi are not oems ...they are proper smartphones manufacturers

25 million vs 3 million market potential

if you are in their shoes what do you propose to do

I think msians are more willing to spend on IT gadget these days, iPhone 6s 16GB cost RM 3,199.00 without contract yet we see tons of msians buying it.

This is probably their internal memo

Dear Marketing and Sales staff

Top management have received emails from so called fans from a tiny country call Singapore

Singaporeans with their tiny market thinks that they can educate us iin our business.

They even demand us to sell the latest and greatest phone we have.

Well, Singaporeans are known to be picky, pretentious and cheap.

Who cares about their market

Regards

Top Management of HTC

All is not lost for HTC yet. USA seems to be doing well for HTC10. And I'm sure by now, China should have sold more than 251 units.

"She said the M9 model did not sell well last year. The company spent the whole year of 2015 and the first several months of 2016 fixing the problems of the M9 inventory, she added."

Well last year they are not fixing it at all by introducing tons of HTC One at once..

`Fixing the problems of the M9 inventory' means clear stock haha.

TBH M9 started in the wrong foot with overheating issue. Not sure why HTC is so suay with the chip.

yeah. honestly speaking, when they say announcement soon, i dont think it should be taking more than 2 weeks.

The way i see it, got several reasons;

1) HTC made the wrong move, in not selling the phone here.

2) HTC does not know that Singapore people are not expressive enough, most choose not to speak up

3) HTC should inform the public weekly, on the status

4) Taiwanese do things slower. Thus they lost the opportunity
