As mentioned by the member above, it's a 4MP camera - the imaging resolution. But Ultrapixel (a marketing term) to describe the larger than usual pixels in the sensor. Essentially, it captures more light, thus it's supposed to give you better low resolution performance.

The Ultrapixel sensor is great if you don't need photos beyond social media usage. However, if you intend to keep full resolution photos for editing or printing purposes, the quality isn't that great when scrutinized up-close. More details of the camera's capability from an earlier analysis:-

Hi, I've noticed that the word megapixel is used instead of Ultrapixel in your review for HTC One mini. Is the camera in megapixel or ultrapixel? As from what I know, there is a difference between them. Cheers:)
