That is weird. Mine shows the VOLTE icon but did not really pay attention if it goes off if network changes to 3G or H. Will observe and update back here.

I have the VOLTE option under my SIM settings.

Which telco are you using?

unless I read the many reviews wrongly, they didn't do their homework properly: "cough up an additional $16 for a 3.5mm headphone jack adapter".

Doesn't U11 included a USB-C to 3.5mm adapter?

Yep, HTC includes the 3.5mm adaptor in the box. This reviewer must have just borrowed a review unit from someone else and tested for the sake of reviewing.

Pardon me but looks like you have no idea what you are talking about.

I have Tronsmart, Aukey and Choetech chargers and cables since last year for my various devices. They are on par, neither is better or reliable than any other.

If you think whatever Benson Leung said is the bible, then you shouldn't even use Qualcomm QC standard as anything more than 2.4A or 5V from USB A port is illegal! only USB-C port can transmit 3A of current and 5V, beyond that, only USB PD.

The only purpose of 56K resistor is to limit the current to 2.4A. Surely that Benson Leung is more knowledgeable than me in USB standard but how many burn or defective products cause by quality USB cable from reputable brands like the above mentioned had been reported on the web? Amazon is a good place to find these, if there are, you can be sure those American will file a class action suit to sue them.

Current is drawn by device, the charger can never force more current than the device requested, Voltage is another thing. Its true that lousy throw away cable can overheat and burn itself, as others had mentioned, use quality cable and common sense. don't try to use non USB-PD certified cable to try to charge laptop that call for 20V/3A = 60W!

Read Chinese chongdiantou website for real product test and user feedback.

Hi points noted.

First, getting a USB C cable for QC use is ok provided you do not use it for USB PD. What would happen if one uses a Xiaomi Mi 6 that also support USB PD?

Second, the whole idea behind USB C is to deliver a common cable platform. So for the same or similar price, why should I buy a lesser product which can be risky when doing USB PD charging?

Anyway, Anker or Aukey doesn't have the attractiveness in product features currently, so I will skip them for now.

This one is the USB committee fault really, not clear with their documentation from what I heard.

Yea... So whilst usable for U11/Phones (QC) not really for the other :s22:

Using Anker, Aukey, BlackBerry, Choetech, LG, Samsung (Fast Charge), xiaomi.. All so far so good..

Even Apple was a victim.. https://www.apple.com/sg/support/usbc-chargecable/ Oppo also... But at least they were responsible enough for recall and raising awareness vs the other cheaper brands... :s13:

read this:
http://c.mi.com/thread-219657-1-0.html

A properly design device will only take what it need and not more, in this case Mi6 only use 1.75A@9V = ~15W. any of your mentioned cable will work. infact, its lower than QC3.0 which can do 2A@9V ~18W. if you use try to use this cable on power hungry device like laptop, prepare to see funny thing happen. actually these devices that request way over 20W are using their own USB-PD certified cable, not the ordinary USB-C cable which are rated 3A@5V.

Second, the whole idea behind USB C is to deliver a common cable platform. So for the same or similar price, why should I buy a lesser product which can be risky when doing USB PD charging?

Anyway, Anker or Aukey doesn't have the attractiveness in product features currently, so I will skip them for now.

USB 3.0 had been around for nearly 9 years now and yet majority of mobile phone still connecting on USB2.0, even Samsung just make it available on S8. also, those cable that got certified by Benson and the tronsmart cable you recommended aren't USB PD certified, just 3A@5V. so I don't see how other brands are inferior when they can do 1.75A@12V or 2A@9V or 18W than ordinary USB-C's 15W.

What I'm trying to say is cables that didn't pass Benson test don't make them lesser product, they just doesn't adhere to USB-C spec 100% but they do work, on QC standard.

most Singtel and M1 official shops have them on display. I'm pretty sure the M1 shop at IMM will have it.

Anyone knows when the new software update will be out? We are having actually a very old software version compared to what others overseas are having now. HTC actually released a new update a few days ago.

Just saw this phone and it's been donkey years since I last touched HTC. Seems like HTC is trying hard to revive their mobile business with the U series.

No doubt this phone attracts me somehow!

Hey guys, sorry if this had been brought up before.

Would like to know can the 128/6 GB version sold here support SD card expansion? I read some place that it is dual-sim only, but does not really explain what is meant by that
