Really hoping they will bring solar red close to Chinese new year, then I don't mind to wait few more weeks.

Well, I just came back from WhyMobile's store at Far East Plaza today, the staff there informed me that the U11+ would be in store Friday (Feb 2nd) earliest, but like you said there, they can't determine the colour options available for selection, but am pretty sure the one brought in by them is likely the one that was registered in IMDA-TLS, since they mentioned the device coming with HTC Singapore 1-year warranty, together with the stated 6GB/128GB configuration as shown on their site. Also, WhyMobile's pricings for other HTC phones are a little strange though. Its pricing for U Ultra (Cosmetic Pink) and Desire 10 Pro (Stone Black) are costlier than the Lazada Official Store Price, but the MediaTek P10-equipped U Play is cheaper at WhyMobile than the Official Store.

I would pretty much wait till WhyMobile gets the stock first before determining whether to get from them, although their selling price is a pretty big draw (SGD930 w/o contract, as they always sell their devices that way, and with the same 1-year local warranty). Although getting matching accessories for the U11+ (such as casing and/or screen protector to mitigate impact damage upon use) would be a huge ask for them. Better try somewhere else for these.

From their website's 'Mission Statement' reads:
It started in late 2003 when four mobile phone enthusiasts got together after being scammed at neighborhood retail stores. They were usually being quoted unbelievably low prices only to find that the phones sold to them had items removed, or were to be further subjected to sales taxes (GST).

After having found out from IRAS that all GST registered traders are to display their GST registration number in tax invoices and quote GST-inclusive prices upfront, they were frustrated and decided to create an honest business of their own.

Another funny thing I noticed when reading about Why Mobile: Seems like that company kind of existed as a bulwark against the likes of that notorious Mobile Air and all those Joker Chews.

Really hoping they will bring solar red close to Chinese new year, then I don't mind to wait few more weeks.
Agreed. Given that Asian phone makers (including Owned-by-China ones like Oppo) tend to have a tradition-of-sorts of getting "auspicious" colours like Red into Chinese-majority countries/regions. And adding to the fact that for last year, Singapore's U11 Colour option has one that the Malaysia's U11 Option lacks: Solar Red.
UPDATE: Someone have contacted WhyMobile about the U11+ colour options and posted the reply from them (on HTC-SG's FB page) that only Ceramic Black is available for now, here's hoping more colour options are made available as more and more pre-orders come in....

Taobao

Might get temp glass from her:

Nice recommendation there. Will consider the offer for the accessories for U11+ should I decide to get one.

Just curious, how much do RWM quote you before you reserved that one? Are the specs the same one as the U11? Because it seems like you may be willing to switch the "Taimen" for a "Reborn Muskie" based on the device you're posting here from...

I think the U11+ has this :

Device capable of supporting Cat. 15 LTE, download up to 800 Mbps, upload up to 150 Mbps.

Whereas U11 has this :

Device capable of support Cat 15 LTE, download up to 800Mbps, upload up to 75 Mbps.

Also, the U11+ supports MU-MIMO which is not on the spec sheet on the U11.

Pretty much the very best you can get now.

Um... I'm finding out if it's the same one as Why Mobile advertised to be (SD 835, 6GB RAM, 128GB ROM) because there's also a 4GB/64GB version. If the local model brought by Red White Mobile is indeed the 6GB/128GB one then it will be worth the price. I just don't want to get myself shortchanged just to get my hands on one actually...

I do not think Singapore market will get the 4GB/64gb version.
If it is at that price, I would skip it if I were you.
At that price, other phones are having the same specs already.

Couldn't agree with you more on this, especially when the phone comes with two accessory options out-of-box when audio needs are concerned (U-Sonic USB-C headphones and USB-C to 3.5mm headphone dongle). Kind of reminds me of the days of feature phones where we need to bring three types of wires: Wall charger, earpiece and USB Cable for one single handphone... Most other smartphones that doesn't have the 3.5mm port simply throws in the enhancement-less dongle though...

Just updating here, Red White Mobile replied to me via Messenger that stocks for U11+ will only arrive on Monday, and sadly the Black colour will be available for the store, same as Why Mobile, but not sure which Black is it.

Well, if they can come up with the local model of the same colour as our friends across the Causeway, it'll be well worth the few days' wait. :s7:
