Trinity is good for HTPC, but unfortunately, I can't seem to find the 65W version. This will depend on you casing to be honest. I was running a ITX rig, which I think 100W is too much heat to handle.

Unless also using it to play games, a 100W quad-core AMD htpc will never run hot watching movies & surfing web.

correct, in general speaking. but not jz gaming. gpu-intensive software such as GIMP photo editor is running a lot faster than the i3.

AMD A8 will do...no need A10..

my 965BE runs very hot compared to intel equivalent. The CPU fan running more than 50% speed most of the time.

Try PCT, saw a bunch of 5600Ks just last Sat.

A10 is better value for money, since with i3 you need to spend about $180 more to get a decent graphics card. For HTPC, the A10 is more than fast enough.

Some of those nice looking itx htpc chassis don't even have a slot for graphic card anyway.
