Yes. Streaming will be an issue.

I do know that. But he was reffering to bluray iso rips. This should not be an issue.
Oh ya that's true. But still good to let him know that there are more demanding codecs other than 4k Blu ray (or whatever ridiculous optical disc they want to use next that no one is gonna buy anwyay.

Streaming from YouTube at 1080p would be an issue for G3240? How about i3 4150, will there be an issue?

Btw, I found this. Bitstreaming directly to AVR. Have a read, http://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=128480 maybe I don't need a GPU / good sound card after all?

No 1080p no issues. We were reffering stream 4k on youtube.

You still need. Im using kodi. Sound card dont need. But gpu is a must.

The gpu will allow DTSHD and DDL pass through, since you are using onboard sound. Another software is media player classic support bit streaming.

I think waiting till Skylake platform market availability to fully develop then consider for a native HDMI 2.0 supported system...

For streaming 4k video, you'll need a desktop quad core Haswell or Ivy bridge. For example my 4770k is able to do it. But any of the dual core offerings is unlikely to work.

Even an old hexa core Phenom II based Opteron isn't able to stream 4k off youtube.
