Many thanks bro, paid already downloading now... Memtest still running with more red lines... Just nice this Thursday on leave, time to visit sim lim after so many yrs.... :o
Here are some of the parts you may consider getting to transform into a small build:
MB: Gigabyte GA-H77N-WIFI @ $125 (Tradepac) / $130 (t258jgn)
Or consider getting refurbished one from CDL if they have.
SSD: Transcend SSD370S 256GB @ $98^ (Lazada Singapore)
CASE+PSU: In Win BM650 [Black] + Powerman IP-AD180-2 180W Flex ATX [80 Plus Bronze] @ $109 (Tradepac)
Only 6.8 litres.
Able to fit in one whole big ODD, 3.5" HDD and 2.5" SSD exactly, and also dual slot low profile graphics card.

Optional:
SSD: Samsung SSD 850 EVO 250GB @ $110^ (Lazada Singapore)
5 years warranty with better steady state performance. Using TLC NAND though.
CASE+PSU: Thermaltake SD101 + Powerman IP-AD180-2 180W Flex ATX [80 Plus Bronze] @ $138 (Laser Distributor)
Same exact interior as BM650 just different exterior bezel.

*Price after Lazada MCUNLOCKED 18% MasterCard discount coupon (Capped at $50)

You need to use a MasterCard...

I just tried still able to use...

Better use it with other purchases to make about $277 (original price) to get full benefit of $50 discount.

Nope too big for that. Use onboard. :s13::o

Oh and remember to get a tube of MX-4 thermal paste and isopropyl alochol to clean your Intel stock cooler heatsink copper base and apply new paste on the CPU (after cleaning as well) before installing.

Intel HD Graphics 2000 is good enough. I've been using it from 2011-2014. Have both native H.264 decoder and Intel Quick Sync to decode efficiently.

Ok then I guess I'll just get a new 8gb gskill or check with Corbell if I'm lucky enough to be covered under "lifetime warranty".

What is CDL btw? Another distro?

No don't waste money to get something you already have enough. DDR3 is also on its way to become obsolete.

CDL is the main distro for Gigabyte products at Commonwealth.

So which one you recommend? I was thinking to just get a new ddr3, ssd and reuse my old mobp. Might delay mini itx project for a while til more things up lorry. If i buy the new gigabyte mobo, is it compatible to my current i5 and also latest gen haswel processor?

No need for further rest liao cos distro usually will also run memtest during RMA and will do an exchange as long as they see 1 red line of error.

The H77 motherboard is only compatible with your Ivy Bridge CPU. Intel breaks socket compatibiity with Haswell (and doing again for Skylake). Skylake also going to break compatibility for normal voltage DDR3.

I see so I guess in this case I shld just try to RMA my DDR and let other parts up lorry before upgrading. No point getting a new motherboard if it is only compatible to my old ivy bridge right?
