Trip To Hua Hin Ruined by Bomb Blasts

My first trip to Hua Hin was ruined by the bomb blasts there. That morning, before I departed for Hua Hin via Bkk, my friend alerted me via whatsapp to reports of the bomb blast there the night before. I was worried about it especially my wife who was very fearful when I told about it. Nevertheless, we pressed on hoping that it wasn't very serious and security would be be tight and on our part, we would take extra precaution.

It was a Friday and the Queen's birthday. I was told Hua Hin was supposed to be very busy because of the long weekend ,but people stayed away because of the blast. When we reached Hua Hin around evening, the whole place was like a ghost town. Hardly, a soul in sight. When checking into our hotel, we met a few couples checking out in a hurry. An European couple we met told us that a suspect was caught and he revealed that a few more bombs were planted around the town. That evening, we were very worried and scared when he walked out to look for a place for meal. It was no easy task as almost very F&B outlet we went was closed. As we walked, we were also very fearful and had to scan every flower pots, scrubs and trees ahead to look for any sign of hidden bombs. That night, we decided to beat a hasty retreat the next day by booking online a hotel in BKK. The next morning, we scooped off to BKK. I heard it took Hua Hin a few days before everything slowly returned to normalcy. If you ask to me if I would go back to Hua Hin again, I am not sure. My first trip there certainly didn't help. Will have to wait and see.

Personally i would say you worried to much. Maybe because personally during riot and bomb blast etc in bkk i still roam around and maybe because i believe that there is 24hrs a day and bkk or hua hin is so big if really getting hurt im the bomb then it's fated.

I see a few ang mor here enjoying the pool and on the deck bed enjoying the breeze.

TS, I understand how you feel. It is normal to feel fearful when there is a blast.. Worry is inevitable. Better safe than sorry. Indeed it is unfortunate trip for you and wife

Well, you may want to consider visit again in near future if you like the place. In fact its not safe everywhere at all. I had been to Huahin before and well, I prob wont be going back again, as there are other places to visit in thailand. :D:D
