Hualian...Advise??

Hi,

I'm going to Taiwan this coming end Nov, before Taroko, what else is there in hualian that worth to go or any nice food there to eat?

We want to skip Taroko.

i would say, hualien is mainly for sightseeing...go once you probably wont go another time unless you haven cover all the sightseeing areas though...

you wouldn't miss out anything much if you skip taroko, the attractions over there are all so-so, nothing impressive, but you can give it a try though.

food wise, two areas which are the 花莲金三角 and ziqiang night market. there is also this famous yellow truck 炸弹葱油饼, you should really try it, really nice.

I went to Hualien twice, the most recent is last Oct and spent 2 nights. Here's the places we visit in Hualien:-

松園別館 / 花蓮文創園區 -花蓮
清水斷崖觀景台 ** this is awesome.

those marked with ## & ** are highly recommended. Again, it depends which route you take i.e. Taipei to Hualien, but train or car.

As for food, the must eat is: 炸弹葱油饼
