If Mate 30(not pro) coming to SG I might consider. Other than that, no.

So far no news that non pro will come to SG... Specs almost identical and much cheaper so I was tempted as well.

most importantly is the screen is flat and there is the headphone jack. what we do lose out is OIS and wider aperture on the normal cam and a higher res wide angle/selfie cam.

Yup. The deal breaker for me for non pro is the selfie cam. If same as pro I would have gotten this instead. Less than 800 bucks much more affordable.

only the selfie cam? then i think it's almost similar. besides the higher res of the pro. the rest is exactly the same. the aperture is the same, the std mate also has the TOF sensor. why u need the 32mp cam of the pro vs the 24mp cam of the std mate? do u plan to take 32mp selfies?

Receive the call in the morning to get my mate 30 pro. Still couldn't fully make up my mind whether to hoot or not. Too used to GMS app and stuff. After i install gms, will i lose out in terms of app updates or anything?

Think from comments most issues r around Google pay and some apps like Netflix which may not work properly. Otherwise it should b largely identical in terms of experience after u install gms yourself. I tried yesterday night so far app updates, maps etc all work fine.

I don't use google pay and netflix on my phone so shouldn't be an issue for me.

Do you mean google app updates? So whenever google apps have any updates, you will also receive it through playstore?
