For users who upgraded from mate 20pro/p30 or pro, do you really experience much difference in performance, battery life and camera? Last tried mate 20x and 20 pro before moving on to others. Thinking if its worth trying out.

This is a variant to install Google Mobile Services in the Mate 30 Pro, not really an entire backup restore method but only individual Lzplay app and other google apps. In essence, security wise this is just like the lzplay method app install, not an entire phone backup restore.

For me I only compared 3 things, 1 is camera, the P30 pro cameras are generally better than the std Mate 30 except for the front cam which the std Mate 30 has TOF cam, but you pay for it by having a bigger notch.

2nd is GMS. I pay the same amount of money but no GMS like bo hua..

Last thing is telco not selling, at least not the telco that i normally recontract with..

u should watch the youtube speed test videos, especially those that open many apps at the same time across different phones.. the difference between the 980 and 990 really isn't that much. Camera also not so significant, but I guess low light video the mate 30 series has improvements from p30 and mate 20 series since the video cam is also using SuperSensing technology

Yeah not having GMS is a deal breaker for me as well. But then again I can't bring myself to pay so much for an old chipset on the P30 Pro

True the sensor is bigger but no OIS and the aperture is smaller on the Mate 30. So I really don't know if the bigger sensor will make up for the smaller aperture and no OIS or not.

I also compared the M30 extensively with the P30 because the M30 has what I like, which is flat screen and 3.5MM jack. But with the 11.11 sales, I paid peanuts for a recontract P30 Pro, something which even if the telcos sold the M30 during 11.11, it will surely be several hundred bucks more because it's a new phone.

The newer 990 chipset doesn't seem to translate into significantly faster app opening times leh.

can, it's no problem at all, anything from google play store can install.

The only issue is NEtflix. Play Store version is too new won't work. you need Netflix version 3.16.6 build 5382 which you can easily find by googling.

And I'm also using Google Rewards, so it's safe to say that I'll no longer be able to use it on the mate 30 pro if I were to get it now correct?

once google mobile services installed, Google contacts will come in as with any normal google phone. I can't answer about Google Rewards though, I don't know.

Rewards no issue. I just answered one few days ago.

For those getting mate 30 pro tomorrow, just to note most commonly apps can work without GMS.

Some apps cannot work even sideload with GMS like newer version of netflix.
