Here is a mini-review based on my use of this phone, local set for nearly 2 weeks.

Insane battery life. Love this phone.
This should be the gold standard of mobile battery life.

I used a wide range of phones, latest before M8 being LG G4 which would typically last me 6-7 hours before it dies if I conservatively it for email, surfing, spotify (20 minutes) with BT earphone pairing, whatsapp.

Now this Mate 8, I dont even need to watch my clock or how I use, I just spam bluetooth pairing with my pebble, earphone, play spotify as and when I like (usually 20 minutes on the go), watch youtube 20 minutes, email, whatsapp, surf etc lasts me 20 plus hours with 20 or 10% battery. I run avast, cerberus and other stuff in the background too.
The fingerprint scanner is faster than S7 too and I find more intuitive.
Charges 10% to 100% in about 1.45hrs.

The Sucks
Camera
Cam is so-so can't compare to G4 but I'm not a camera user. So not really my concern. Although the cam app is feature packed, I find it not really user intuitive. Fo example, im used to left swipe to change to front to back camera view which can't be done on this cam app.

Damn OS

The huawei stock emotion ui is full of rubbish bugs and bad UI and almost as bad as OPPO. damn chinese can't get their OS right. Xiaomi has a decent OS but I don't like it's almost non-android.
I just downloaded Nova launcher and got it over with.

Verdict?
Buy if you are a power user and need long battery life like me. Big screen, fast charging helps also. Just buy if you don't need water resistance, aMOLED screen, VR (mostly impractical features if you ask me)

Thanks for the feedback. The permissions requests are now part of the 6.0 security features, so this will appear on all 6.0 devices.
