Those thinking Trump will reverse the decision in screwing Huawei in few weeks time is outta his mind.

Trump's aim is to screw with China and Huawei is a perfect target because everyone know China govt has a hand in that company and unlike the other China's company, Huawei is growing too strong for Trump's liking.

Gotta hit the enemy where it's hurt the most so hitting Huawei will hurt China badly.

Unless Huawei kneel and surrender, which is highly unlikely since that would also means China's surrendering, Trump will just continue to screw Huawei up.

If Huawei still don't want concede within the next few weeks, I strongly believe Trump will enforce the restrictions on Huawei to flex his muscle.

LOL you might as well throw your phone and use computer instead. The whole point of apps is to circumvent browsers.

can you use computer to take pics/phone call/slide it into your pocket wherever you go?

Currently, consumers are in dilemma.
Most will switch to other brands, some will continue to support huawei against bully....and trust in huawei, some don't even care. Google also a victim in this tech war, because investors/partners will lose confidence in non-neutral company and also force partners to become their rival competitors.

After the news of Google revoking Huawei’s Android license, many assumed that they would simply build an OS based on AOSP. It may not be that simple. They would not be able to use any OS that contains copyright belonging to a U.S. company. So this news of Android app support is a pretty big deal since other Android alternatives, such as Tizen, do not support Android apps out of the box.

Huawei devices have become incredibly popular over the last few years, meaning there are millions of people relying on Android apps on their Huawei phones. People won’t want to give up those apps if they move to a new Huawei device.

This situation is far from over. Huawei is already working closely with Google to work on a solution. At the end of all of this, Huawei may still be allowed to use Android and Google Play services. But it’s important to know the company has a backup plan and it involves Android in some capacity.

Huawei designs the processors for its Android phones, but it’s still heavily reliant on foreign components. In its latest phone, the P30 Pro, the list includes the Corning glass that covers its front and back, flash storage from Micron, the networking components that allow the phone to connect to 3G and LTE networks, and more.

Face ID firm Lumentum follows Google with Huawei ban

Chinese President Xi Jinping has called for the nation to embark on a new Long March and “start all over again”, in the most dramatic sign to date that Beijing has given up hope of reaching a trade deal with the United States in the near term.

A 90-day reprieve from the US government on Monday to allow Huawei to maintain existing networks and provide software updates to existing Huawei phones also meant little as the company was “ready” for the restrictions, Ren said, according to transcripts of his interview carried by state-run China Central Television’s social media account.
Huawei’s wholly owned semiconductor unit HiSilicon, which produces chips for smartphones and servers for the company, has prepared for years to cope with a scenario like the US cutting off access to advanced chips and technology, HiSilicon’s president Teresa He Tingbo wrote in a memo following the restrictions last week.
HiSilicon devoted significant resources to building a backup to ensure the survival of the group, and with the US putting Huawei and its affiliates on a trade blacklist, that backup plan is being put to use and will “ensure the strategic safety of most of the company’s products and the continuous supply of most products”, He said.
Huawei’s smartphone unit head Richard Yu Chengdong also confirmed in March that the company has developed its own operating systems (OS) for smartphones and computers in case those provided by US technology firms are no longer available.
Here’s why US does not have a 5G telecoms giant like Huawei
Ren said that Huawei will not easily give up on US chips but has a backup. The company is able to make American-quality semiconductors but does not mean it will not buy them, he said.
Huawei is nevertheless “very grateful” to American companies, who have contributed a lot to Huawei. Many of Huawei’s consultants are from American companies such as IBM, Ren said.
Asked how long the crisis will last for Huawei, Ren said the question should be directed at Trump instead.
“Blame should be directed at US politicians, not companies,” he said.

I'm still believe something could be work out.. The aftermath of the ban would not benefit either parties and those companies involved... Which have greater impact on the economy as well.. we shall see.

no worries.
The 90 days grant was given after xi da da & Liu He visited a rare earth mineral plant.
China produce 90% of the rare earth minerals and they are the only 1 with the technology that can produce the most purity materials....
Just wait until August, pretty positive.....unless trump want to test china resilience. :s12:

Rare earth minerals form components for smartphones, screens, batteries, screens, turbines, and are even more critical to drones, missiles, advanced weapons sensors, radars, stealth technology, lasers, electromagnetic guns and jamming technology.
