Similar to what nexusscion said, they're looking to enhance but God knows how long they'll take to bypass the reliance on gms, and frankly, it can be done since u can use the prepaid visa on singtel dash. Its a qn of whether they find it efficient to do it, i think.

Did you asked them when they are supporting HMS. Apparently P40 does not have GMS.. I keeps seeing their UOB ads in AppGallery. It like a scam if they don't support HMS..

Yes. For YouTube, I suggest u download YouTube vanced and micro g. Clone both over.

Unless u install gms, u won't be able to sign into YouTube app even if u clone it over.

not really depends on the distance and timing
example like this non peak hour I can just grab a taxi outside the mall as my house is like 5mins away unless long queue

you have to launch all the PHV apps to compare for longer distance

Ok thank you. I am still considering whether I should upgrade to p40 pro. Those who are using it, is the lack of GMS really very inconvenient? I know some apps got workaround to install like through phone clone. I got some questions:

1)Can Netflix be installed?
2) if no Google pay, is there any equivalent app to use NFC to pay?
3) food delivery apps like deliveroo can still work on this phone?

Now I recontract, p30 pro is worth 159 while p40 pro is 400+. Can't really decide which one to get. Currently using p20 pro.

p40 pro got free gifts all can be sold at $230 lowest on carousell, plus the phone and CIS, probably only paying $70 for the 2 years plan, more so if your CIS is 40%

Thanks for the answer! sounds like GMS is rather important to me so maybe I will lean towards P30 pro instead!

1) I am able to install Netflix from 3rd party apk store.
2) No comment as I havent used it.
3) I use deliveroo via the mobile browser. So considered can use.

Currently imo phone is great but still not worth getting it to change one lifestyle to revolve around a phone.

Maybe by end of year can revisit this phone in hopefully by then a matured (enough) hms

I don't see anything wrong with changing your lifestyle for a superior camera phone. AppGallery is still evolving and its great to be free from Google data mining software.

Yes. Everything will be transferred over. I tried before cloning my Samsung Note 8 over to Huawei P30 Pro.

give it a year or two... when HMS and AppGallery matures. We will know when it's ready when app companies start putting up the HW AppGallery logo alongside iOS and GMS logos.

so I'll wait till p50 or p60 pro? haha... maybe will come out pXpro edition.

in the meantime, no my work can't do without Google apps so sadly can't join P40 family

Huawei phone is really good.. Too bad can't use playstore.. Hope they can set up a good app store for world wide to bring the competition to market. Google and apple is getting disappointing
