Isnt MichaelTan big boss of Convergent Systems who distributes Huawei phones here? There is need of disclaimer and transparency imo.

Anyway let's see who Sunny Optical makes cameras for... What endgadget calls "garbage"

"Sunny Optical last year added Konica Minolta,, for whom it is making handset lens sets, to its long list of clients which include Samsung Electronics, Panasonic, Sony, Fujitsu, Olympus, Huawei, Lenovo Group, and Xiaomi among others, according to the company website."

http://blogs.wsj.com/digits/2014/02/25/the-next-asian-google-trade-sunny-optical/

Sunny Optical seems to be the center of many cellphone camera innovation. Including Light, the cellphone zoom lens innovator.

Anyway let's rely on our own eyes in addition to comments from blogsites. Let me share with you comments by an avid instagrammer I loaned the p9 to.

[4/24, 11:15] SK: More shots last night
[4/24, 11:15] SK: Different effects
[4/24, 11:18] Michael Tan: Important is, does the phone rekindle in you a love for photography?
[4/24, 11:18] SK: YES
[4/24, 11:18] SK: No passion phone is also dead
[4/24, 11:18] Michael Tan: **** the pictures are nice
[4/24, 11:18] SK: I take one
[4/24, 11:42] SK: If I cld go back grittier places like yangon...more to take

I'm loving it. Everyone who plays with it, they fall in love with it, and fall in love with photography, again.

.... Dual SIM usage right now is purposed for overseas usage as in local sim on SIM1 and Singapore SIM on SIM2. Firmware update for SIM2 to support 3G is TBD.
...h.

Hi Michael, Re: Support for SIM2 to use 3G...are you saying that there is a possibility that Huawei will release a FW to support this?

Thanks

I would like to know this as well. If it's confirmed then I will happily buy the 4GB/64GB dual-sim version, even in gold.

Huawei, on their SG Facebook page, said this in response to a user question asking about 4G and 3G:

"...currently the Dual-SIM is only able to support 4G/3G, alongside with a 2G SIM..."

Implies it's possible or maybe something they are looking into to see if it's possible

I tell you who will win. The camera with the most extreme colors (and hence discoloration but drama), oversharpened (sharp edges please the human eye) and brightest (hence overexposed). Dynamic range doesn't matter much in a vote put to non-pros (and rightly so!). Detail don't matter for this vote because my lappie screen is too lousy to show.

This is why Instagram pictures - with filters adding drama to the picture but taking away fidelity - are so popular.

It'd be quite different if you had a panel of pros, but surely not only pros get cameras.

I bet you the Huawei P9 will come out the worst liked in the vote. Huawei original setting (saturated colors, bright, etc) would have a chance but with Leica people insisting on doing the opposite of what people love it will come out worst - toning down the saturation to do better dynamic range, toning down the brightness so that don't blow out the highlights and capturing more details, etc.

C is pretty good actually, but it's not the Huawei P9.

Someone mentioned that A is Lumia 950 XL but not sure if it is the truth.
