Ya. Because they have their own supercharge protocol which is low voltage high current.
QC 3.0 is high voltage low current.

You need to buy the Huawei supercharge powerbank. Super duper fast charging! Even faster than qc3. 0

You can try Tronsmart power bank which supports Huawei fcp fast charging protocol or buy Huawei on power bank which has supercharge. Take note of the different models which support either fast charge or super charge only.

Any idea how to exchange the super charge adapter that came with the Huawei mate 10 pro?

It charges very very slowly Vs this Huawei fcp charger I got from Lazada at 19.90 with cable.

I connected the purple 5a cable with the fcp charger From Lazada and there are two lighting symbols while charging Vs only 1 lighting symbols using the super charge adapter that came with the huawei mate 10 pro.

There's 6 months warranty for charger. Can visit the Huawei service centre at orchard

They are not QC compatible. They use their own quick charger standard, which is basically useless unless you carry a charger with you all the time.

To be honest, you need to read the specs. QC is from Qualcomm and so only works on devices running the appropriate Qualcomm SOC. Huawei is using their in house Kirin SOC, which don't support QC charging.

I've never seen 2 lightning symbols. I've used the charger provided by Huawei and I actually don't find it slow as it got from 0 to 50% in about 30 mins. Either you have a faulty charger or your expectation of fast is too fast. While it is a nice feature to have, do bear in mind that the battery heats up significantly when its doing fast charge. As a result, it can result in battery longevity in the longer term.

Huawei never said it support Quick charge. You should find out more about a product before you purchase it..

Many chinese brand use their own charging algorithm.
For me it is a good thing because i will use the original charger and won't pay extra for QC charger if i want any additional charger :s22:

Also if you've notice.. Usually qc3.0 comes with those phone battery that barely last a day. Even samsung s9 didn't have qc3.0

Mate 9 and Mate 10 support USB-PD too, if the USB-PD charger support 9V output. The max wattage is about 16W--9V@1.75A, ~70% of Huawei SCP max of 22.5W.

Don't know if P10 and P20 also support USB-PD.

Samsung adaptive fast charge is QC2.0, any QC2.0/3.0 charger will fast cahrge Samsung phones. QC3.0 is an upgrade of QC2.0, mainly in variable voltage from 3.7V to 20V, where as QC2.0 is 5, 9, 12 and 20V.

Why wasted? Without it, it still charges relatively quickly. I am using an Anker 6 port charger that does not support QC. It may not charge as fast but still quick enough.

Looks like cheapest price for 10000mah Huawei supercharge powerbank is $80 on Qoo10

Now got $12 coupon so it's $68

Worth it to buy ?

Not for me, since Powerbank means bringing around and don't need it to be lightning fast, so I rather just get Xiaomi 10k at 25% of the price, but that's just IMO.

Mi Powerbank actually is not bad. It's not a Super charger, but it fast charges P20 at 9V 1.28A. This model of powerbank is a bit dated (PLM03ZM). The latest model (if not mistaken PLM05ZM) could probably charge faster.
