Saw this newly lauched app, Hugo, on Moneysmart, which enables one to spend, save & invest roundups to gold, for as low as $0.01.

Anyone tried so far?

this looks like a retail digital banking product ( with savings, debit card, investment ( in gold ).
Dont they need digital banking license from MAS for this ?

Don't see any upside to using this, unless one has no financial discipline and need some form of forced saving tool. The debit card doesn't even give any significant form of benefit other than zero FX fee? Like that might as well use Revolut / Amaze / Youtrip...

There's nth beneficial to use it as of now. And it's a visa, masters are more worthy in the prepaid card environment.

Their latest update on their Facebook page:

"We have just received an In-Principle Approval by the MAS! This means that the MAS is accepting our controls and governance for fiscal stability, consumer protection and investor protection. A great milestone for us all!"

Have to top up via Bank transfer Only
