I'd recommend dropping an email to gopro first (or contacting support via their website). Last time my dive housing shattered and they sent a new one to me for free even though I wasn't under warranty anymore.

While you wait, I suggest taking out the battery, opening all port covers and placing it in a dry cabinet (or an airtight container with thirsty hippo). Let the moisture in the gopro dry out for maybe a couple of days then try turning it on. Saltwater will corrode the contacts on the pcb if you don't dry it fast.

Edit: if it is saltwater right, you may want to try soaking it in tapwater first (at your own risk!) to rinse out the salt. Whatever you do, do not turn on the camera again! The battery can potentially short the camera out!

For SD cards, can try Lazada Convergent store. Look for the 64gb v30 ones.

http://www.lazada.sg/sandisk-extreme-pro-64gb-microsdxc-uhs-1-u3-v30-up-to-95mbs-readmemory-card-with-adapter-6180534.html

Depending on promo, can get it for $47 - $52.

Started using GoPro hero 5 for about a month. Was a user from hero 3 and 3+ .
No major complaints here except there won't be much chance of a extended hi capacity battery ( in bacpack form) for the H5 in the near future which is a major cons for me.
Also a concern for me is the rubber finish on the hero 5 itself. In the past , many hero 3 or heto3+ accessories like the original battery charger or LCD backpack has got the similar rubber grip coating similar on the hero 5 itself. Overtime, many of these coating has 'melted' and tuned into a oily and sticky mess. I have to 'washed' these coating away with turpentine . Hope the hero 5 won't end up like this especially in a hot & humid Singapore weather here.

I'm looking for a gimbal for my GoPro 5 .. was initially thinking of getting the Feiyun G5 .. but read some online reviews about the GoPro5 picking up noise from the motors ..

Does anyone have any recommendations?

I got mine from qoo10. If can buy locally better get it locally. If ship battery back you will need extra cost for sensitive shipping.

The picking up of the motor noise is due the fact that one of the mics of Hero 5 Black is resting on to the one of the motors of the gimbal. Coupled with the fact that the Hero 5 Black is more sensitive to any ambience noise pick up. Hence, even if you use other models of Gimbal, the same would have happened as well.

You can always switch the Hero 5 Black to 'wind mode' (if i am not mistaken this is the term). From there, the camera will intelligent revognise the motor noise as a background noise and eliminates from your videos.

I own a feiyu tech G5, and the method works perfectly. so far, performance wise, G5 is still the better of the lot i have tested out
