HX90 , G7X M1

Dear members,

I am trying to get a camera with a flip screen for my other half as a birthday present.

Budget around $500.

I am very impressed with HX90's built and 30x zoom even though it might not be used during its lifespan with the owner. However, what worries me is that the sensor on the G7X is so much better.

Did i miss out on any other models within the price range with a flip screen ?

Here are some interchangeable lens models with flip screen around $500:

Sony A5000/A5100
Canon EOS M10
Panasonic GF7/GF8

There are a few cheap Nikon coolpix and panasonic lumix compact cameras with lousier sensor/lens combos that are far below or within your budget. Otherwise your two choices are pretty optimal choices for that budget.
