I dont like Cloud Alpha is because i like closed back and another reason is that my friend said they can hear what i am hearing from my headset. (Echo)
I am looking for a new headset or headphone together with Dac/Amp.
Budget for headset/headphone is $500
Budget for Dac/Amp and mic is $500

Just state budget 1k for everything.

Get this fast for headphones - https://www.massdrop.com/buy/massdrop-x-sennheiser-hd-58x-jubilee-headphones

Edit: just realized you mentioned closed back...well above is still a good deal so you can keep it in mind. Go for this then https://www.lazada.sg/products/audio-technica-ath-m50x-professional-studio-monitor-headphones-black-i100377124-s100383920.htm

Mic let others recommend as I'm not that sure on this. Probably a usb based mic.

DAC + amp - https://www.lazada.sg/products/schiit-audio-modi-2-usb-dac-i225507870-s343507208.html

But is this just for gaming? Cause if you are streaming then sure go for the above setup. If you are just gonna Skype/discord with your friends, better else get some other gaming headset or stick with your alpha.

I have tried M50x but dont really like the comfort of it. How about DT770? The headphone/ headset is mostly for gaming but may wanna get something better so that i can use for music or video too

Dt770 is ok as well though more bassy which means lesser advantages for fps. If it's for immersive gaming, by all means.

If that's your usage case, just forgo the mics and just use your alpha for gaming with friends. The above setup for your non-gaming/solo gaming stuff.

I happen to see this, how do you think about the Gsx 1000 amp with Game Zero? as compare to Creative G5 or Modi 2?
As for the Alpha, I am getting rid of it =x

Juat get game zero. Decent sound for it's price and pretty comfortable. For gaming headset, your onoard motherboard sound is going to drive it fine. You won't hear much difference using amps.

You do know what amps are for right?

Yup I know. Later I am going to try the demo for Game Zero. Hope the comfort level is on par with Cloud 2. If not maybe I will go for open cans.

Now is either
Headset: Game Zero/ GSP 600
OR
Headphone: HD599/HD650/HD660/DT770/DT990
With Schiit Magni/Modi

You do realize the 2nd option have not included the mic right? Do take that into consideration as well.

Imo, just get the zero one for your multiplayer games and the other set for your audiophile needs. You can then forgo the mic in the 2nd option.

The game zero if I not wrong is basically the hd598 but they kind of redesign it and make it close back and tune it to have abit more bass so the sound is more tune for gaming to make it more bassy. Some people is saying its not even a hd598 but a lousier version. I rather get a proper headphones like the hd598 or the hd650 couple with a proper dac amp.

I really don't like these gaming headsets because they tend to modify the sound signature to be more bassy for gaming purpose. I prefer natural audiophile proper headphones for all my music, ,movies and gaming.

Headsets? Nah maybe if you like the convenients of the mic and headsets together but usually its more expensive for the headsets and its more preferable to get a proper audiophile headphones with a modmic because its more value for money.

The only appeal of getting a headsets is if you lazy to get separate modmic or if money not an issue for you or you are just using it only for gaming and using onboard audio then yeah probably a headset will be fine but get a good one like the cloud hyper headsets.

I suggest you keep your cloud alpha for only gaming purpose then get a good audiophile headphones with good dac amp for all your music movies and korean drama needs and other things. Then gaming stick to your cloud alpha as you will need the mic for gaming teamspeak with your mate when playing team games like overwatch.

Serious? I find most gaming headset to NOT be bassy as footsteps tend to be lost it them. They usually have decent enough low and mids.

Can they beat an actual audiophile headphones? Well no. But I would argue that great sounding headphones don't come cheap and gaming headsets for their price, usually comes out great when compared with their non-gaming counterparts at similar price points.

Yeah some open back gaming headsets tend to have good highs and mids with good soundstage in order to pinpoint footsteps from enemies and they tune the sound signature to add a slight bit of bass to it for better gaming enjoyment. Those are good options but could be abit more expensive compare to getting a separate audiophile headphones with modmic.

Do note the sacrifice of the soundstage if you decide to want to use close back headphones for gaming. Open back headphones are more suitable for gaming I feel due to their better comfort and also the larger soundstage that suits gaming better and can pinpoint footsteps in FPS games. The cloud alpha should have noise canceling features so not sure why your friend can still hear your music when your using it.

TS can buy audiophile headphone and hang headset around neck for teamspeak.

G4me zero is rebrand of pc350se however it uses XL leather earpad instead.
