I have two simple questions on NUS engineering :(

1. What is the 'engineering' course? Is this something that is called 'common engineering'? If i go to this course, can I go to any of the engineering courses in year 2 regardless of my results?

2. Does NUS have 'electronic' engineering course? Or is there only electrical engineering? If i go to NUS, is there any way to get a Electronic Engineering degree?

Should be take common modules during first year then hit into your specialisation after the foundation year. Can branch into the other engineering disciplines, any if not all. Problem is, you will need to compete to get into the course u want based on the grades during this streaming process. Can expect Chem eng, aero to be elite level.
So taking "Engineering" is a gamble.

Engineering is common engineering programme for 1 year. Admission and streaming after one year in the common engineering programme will be based on merit.

Please look through the curriculum of each NUS engineering course to see if you are able to find a course that fits "electronic". If not, apply for other universities.

Usuaally these days it is known as school of eee.

Just make sure ur major electives is gear towards electronics. Then again u hv to ask urself if u r after electrical electronocs or mechanical electronics .

Nus EEE is alot better than Ntu EEE if u r from poly...

Just FYI and IMO:

1. If you ever make it into NUS (any electrical course), make sure your mandarin is up to speed. (If you know what I mean...)

2. NUS trumps NTU usually, and it is exceptionally so if you are interested/passionate in what you are studying.

If u are interested and passionate in your major which uni many times do not matter. These ppl learn outside the textbook and class. Many times these ppl don't do well in exams but they can produce better in real life.

agree with this... applies to most faculties, not just engine.

actually during my time, NUS engine(other than science-engine) is weak compare to NTU

now NTU has fallen
