1) watch 720p and 1080p anime smoothly
2) 14 inch screen at least
3) i always leave my laptop on for many days to download things
4) must have USB 3.0 port
5) NO OVERHEATING ISSUES

my budget is <1.3K

btw i am planning to buy from places like challenger, harvey norman, courts or best denki etc. so if you have any additional advice please give me

watch smoothly is 1 thing but do you need the display to be 1080 as well ?

If you need the 1080p screen as well can go for MSI CX61. It costs $1299, it also has 1TB HDD, 15.6" screen and 2x USB 3.0 ports. Click here for the brochure. I think you can buy it from Newstead/PC Dreams. Laptop with 1080p display should have a better display quality as most of 1080p display using 60%-72% NTSC color garmut.

the specs of the laptop seems quite value for money. msi is a taiwan brand.. where is the service center? is it good?

It uses 768p = 1366x768. MSI warranty will be under PC Dreams at SLS/Funan. Should be no problem for long hours usage. Alternatively can go for Asus K45VD, same price but different graphics card. Asus service center is located at Tai Seng if you interested to know as well.

I think the next IT show will be on June. Buying from IT show probably get more freebies only like cooling fan, cleaning kit etc

Yes. XXXp not always correct, for example 1600x900 also 900p.
If you want good display with better color, always go for laptop with 1920x1080 display as usually it has a better color. The MSI CX61 should be the cheapest brand new laptop with 1080p screen.

I have been looking at courts etc and I observed that acer's laptops are the most value for money. However I heard they have a reputation for overheating. I know this a just a general saying. But is this saying somehow true when comes to acer laptop?

depends. I have pretty good experience with my Acer 3820TG, 3820T & v3-471G

no unbearing heat issue at all. Don't really know why some people are complaining.

Either user's fault or just pure luck
Most of the cases of laptop die from overheating is because using the laptop on bed or never change the thermal paste
If you want to try your luck, go ahead. Just don't complain when got problem, learn how to solve it instead
