I believe not everybody uses their gaming PC for the sole purpose of gaming. My question is what are the examples of activities (human and machine) where i7 significantly trumps i5 in terms of performance?
I'm doing a little research before building a new gaming PC. But apart from gaming alone. I'd like the PC to have the capability to do things such as:
In terms of memory, I believe using 16GB (8GB host and 8GB vm) would suffice.
Under such requirements, would you think the hyper-threading features in an i7 chip would play a huge impact in terms of performance? Or selecting the correct i5-mobo bundle can still do the job?
Do appreciate all shifus' input.

- Running multiple apps across both OSes concurrently
