Yes, I think the closer in stepping it is to the final retail version, the less bugs there will be. If you look hard enough on the Internet you can find a list of the bugs for each stepping, but I didn't bother to do that (apparently there were 17 minor bugs in my stepping of the 2920XM, not all of which Intel even bothered to correct in the final OEM version).

I'm not too familiar with the CPU-Z output for revision and stepping, but you should check with the seller for the stepping#, then compare it with the final OEM release stepping on cpu-world.com, the closer it is to the final stepping the better (but I also think more expensive since it will be in higher demand).

My ES CPU is actually 2 steppings away from the final version (not 1) and it works great, so I wouldn't be too worried, just buy and enjoy!

the weird thing is, seller told me that only stepping number is available ie E0, but nothing is shown in cpu z revision.
