coz 900 is inflated cost. Alienware, being a big pc builder, is able to bulk order the 1070s at or less than MSRP. FYI, msrp for 1070s are 379usd which is around 496.94 sgd based on google finance's rates.

Now u know why people are so angry with the whole mining fiasco, local distros/retailers and especially
scalpers?
Both retailers AND distributors are also subject to price surges
Both are companies whose sole objective is to make a profit not a non-profit or charitable organisations
This is simply the laws of a FREE market in play
The GPU market is not such a controlled market so supply and demand applies
When supply is limited and demand is enormous, Prices are bound to go up.
Both retailers and distributors work on margins.
Retailers act on distributors and distributors act on manufacturer's pricings
Retailers are the ones that are like the middle income. Squeezed on all sides
End users want them to lower price but why should the retailers lower the price below their cost?
When retailers lower cost, it is just transferring happiness from one entity to another
End user is Happy
Retailer is not happy.
Those that lower alot, end up having no stock.
And in the early days fake customers existed who tried to buy sympathy votes with retailers. When retailer gave in, the real deal showed their horns.
If you don't want to see such surges happening, go make the GPU market a controlled, regulated one. Then it will rise only when the regulator wants it to rise.
