Buy a 8700, sell the 8400. :D

Gonna be getting Alienware Aurora R7 that is on promotion.
But cpu is 8th gen i5-8400, while I’m currently using 6th gen i7-6700..
Is it considered a downgrade :/

For the same price as the Alienware, Dell XPS tower comes with i7-8700 though, but graphics card is GT-1030 instead of GTX-1070 :/

Sry noob qn, am tempted to buy this. Anything I should take note of? Am a newbie when it comes to DYI pc builds.

Also, able to mount https://www.asus.com/sg/Networking/PCE-AC88/ on it? tks in adv!!

You need to take note that all items inside the alienware only can claim warranty with dell. If your set comes with 1 yr warranty, your gpu is also 1 yr warranty. For diy, gpu usually is 3 years warranty.

Reddit claimed that nvidia and amd arent the one jacking up prices. So ppl speculate that its either the AIB or the distros playing the demand & supply game.

At least it seems to be the case for evga as an aib...you see their website...they have increased all their prices for their gpus.
