Thanks for the link. A pity that he is not testing the production unit and I find that his statement on DX100 having a 1.2GHz CPU to be incorrect. As for the rest of the comments, I agree with most of them.

How do you find the SRC settings? Is it like what he described in the review?

I didn't try out the SRC at all. Just listening to the tracks at original bit/sample rate.

Finally, the last piece of puzzle is in place - my Twag is finally back from RMA :D Craig was nice enough to change it to Eclipse despite me sending in the clear version.

Oh no, Randius must send back device liao. :(

Hi, Peter,
We are going to recall the first batch of the DX100, and will cover the return shipping cost as well.
There are some minor changes on hardware. it make the sound better, better wifi signal. Also, the new firmware supports gapless and AIFF.
We will offically inform the first batch DX100 owner very soon. Please be patient.

Sincerely
iBasso Audio

Send back for even better sound quality and gapless playback? OMG, just how much better can the SQ get? I am waiting for their recall email. Good timing as I am on reservist now :D

Yah, which other company will recall to improve on the review batch? They will probably say "screw you" instead. Just look at D3 and Z2.

Nope. Just mean that third batch is not available for ordering yet.

Just received the instruction to send back the DX100 and shipping both ways are paid for by iBasso. Given until end of April to do so. Great service!

There will also be a new bottom case which can be opened easily, I assume for easier replacement of battery. Maybe we can mod that to accomodate bigger capacity? *wink*

mantisviii, no need stress.

just aim for DX100. for a not so bit more $$, it has much more to offer over Z-series. getting headphones in future also no need worry if 3.5mm or 6.5mm jack, or whether can drive that 600ohm driver and not enough storage space.

personally my sony x1060 limits the type of headphones i can enjoy, no expandable memory and jack adaptor is a pain. didn't get much better with a cowon j3. their only saving grace is decent SQ.

ARGH. Choosing between the DX100 and Sony Z Series.

STRESS.

I got that issue as well, but after constantly reading of the reviews and seeing it has the flat sound that I love. I've decided to go for it. :s12:
