Hi all, may I know, if W510 the only model that can take 16GB RAM? How about T series?

Yup, only the W series has 4 slots for ram. T and X series has 2 slots only.

@yanggis - Ebay looks like a good place.

There abouts if it includes the i7, discrete gfx, 160 SDD, mobile broadband and 3 yrs onsite...

I was told to upgrade to intel 250 SSD because the transfer rate is 4x faster than the 160 SSD. Is that true?

You'll have to do the upgrade yourself though. Lenovo doesnt offer anything bigger than the 160GB SSD. However I doubt the ThinkPad can support SATA r3.0 (6gb/s) so its rather pointless since you'll be stuck with SATA r2.0 (3gb/s)

more info on the Intel 510 Series here

Has anyone ordered thinkpads from overseas?

Does it ship with additional box?

My Macbook Pro ordered from Apple online is shipped directly from China and it comes in 2 boxes. Very well packaged.

The seller has another model that comes with 160gb SSD and 8gb ram at USD$400 more. I can purchase these cheaper to upgrade in Singapore though.

I think the warranty is valid in Singapore too for 3yrs?

Thanks!

Just get a 2.5 inch USB2 > SATA HDD enclosure (ie portable hdd case only). I think $20-30 can get you one. You can remove your hdd from your thinkpad and slot it into the housing. Afterwhich you can access the hdd via usb on another comp

Hi nick, one of my customers mentioned that he had some issues claiming warranty off a ThinkPad he bought via ebay. You may want to call Lenovo support to verify. If you are not too worried about that then it looks like a good deal.
