no wor. I only have two wires. the extra wire only comes when u order the 6300. The loan unit i got from lenovo is 6300 thus have 3 wires, the wireless performances the same le
oh? that means there might be a point to the 2 antenna sets i have after all haha. for those that upgrade to the 6300, you might want to buy a set from me :D

anyway the antenna for a full compete set is 2 wires on the left of the screen and 3 on the right. 1 from each side goes to the wwan card and the remaining goes to the wlan card.

The extra wire for the 6300 supposed to increase the bandwidth to 450mbps as opposed to the 6200 with 300mbps. Also supposedly has better reception coz of the extra antenna in an area with weak wifi signal. More info here

The screw are on the thinkpad itself.

arh that would be nice. in return i can help you if you need to know anything regarding changing the antenna. would be good for business ;) (though i think it might void the warranty haha)

too bad i already made the order otherwise i would have getting it from you and saved 15% of what i paid for mine.

but where can i look for you?

Oh, repacing antenna is a daunting job. I did that on my old T42 before to add bluetooth. I think the good thing is all thinkpads got quite detailed manual online so that almost everyone can DIY with proper tool and a little bit patient ;)

Anyways, You can just collect em at my place or I can post to u :)

PMing you.

Do anyone know any reputable notebook accessories/authorised lenovo retailers in Hong Kong?

According to Lenovo's HK and SG website, the thinkpad 6 cell battery for my laptop costs S$210 here whereas it's going for HK$931 in HK. That's S$164 in today's exchange rate.

However, the website does not provide any authorized retailers addresses in HK at all.

Thanks

Do you so happen to be going there? There are many Lenovo Thinkpad retailers in Hong Kong itself. You should be able to find some at the computer centre at Wan Chai.

If I am not wrong, the 6 cell battery for Thinkpad T61/R61/R400/T400 has 2 models. One with a higher capacity and one with a slightly lower capacity. Do becareful when you compare the prices.
