hi guys, when i right click on the desktop I get a Microsoft Visual C++ Debug Library dialog box. "The box says:
Debug Assertion Failed!
Program: C:\Windows\system32\igfxsrvc.exe
File: D:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio
9.0\VC\ATLMFC\INCLUDE\atlcom.h
Line:2475

Expression: 0 && "Release called on a pointer that has already been
released"

For information on how your program can cause an assertion
failure, suee the Visual C++ documentation on assets.

(Press Retry to debug the application)

any one can help?

Thanks

Actually until now, i dont understand why they want to change the keyboÀrd to island type. Thinkpad keyboard is the strongest plust point for thinkpad laptop.... The sving using island type got so much different? Why not make it optional then? Let the consumer decide....

I think the older keyboard profile was much higher, so since consumers are demanding for slimmer notebooks, they went with the island style kb. If there is a company making old style kb for new ThinkPads, me thinks will make lots of money!

Wah, this guy hardcore, mod his X230 kb with his old X220 kb

Btw, did you manage to get your ThinkPad through the amex site?

hi all, my 5 years old thinkpad t61 nVidia GPU just died, resulting in 8 split screens upon boot up.
looking for possible solutions here.
should i go for lenovo service centre?
go simlim or funan to get a legit service centre for help?
or just give up on it, get a new PC?

personally i feel that t61 is very good as compared to laptops released during that year when i got it (2008).
most of my friends who got their laptop that year for their poly studies had their laptop fail somewhere near graduation or after that. whereas mine died when i'm about to ORD.

Which part funny?

X1 Carbon is more expensive than MBA.
Grey international warranty
Poor resale value
Heavily marked up in SG
Not for export in USA

Don't see any reason to purchase Lenovo at all

Plus so difficult to buy. Stock is always late.

I got mine from IBM at Changi.

4 cell at about $150 w GST
8 cell at about $229 w GST.

By the way, I've retired my X61. You want to buy over my betteries. Charge count less than 20 times. You can verify it with Power Manager. Both are less than 2 years.

I've purchased batteries from this local site a number of times.

I agree. The old thinkpad keyboards were the best. The island ones do take some getting used to.

for this you need to replace the whole motherboard as the nvidia chip is onboard. it might be expensive.

is your T61 a 15.6" one?
