It happened to me after installing the IBM security module. And I don't wanna uninstall that.

I have installed the module and its still working perfectly leh.

Anyway i tried installing cold server sometime ago and after the installation, my ibm update connector refuse to even launch. appearently cold fusion installation alter some of the java settings in my comp which upconnector used when launching.. so bo bian have to get rid of cold fusion..

It works absolutely perfectly fine on my T40. A combination of "Fn+F5" is able to turn on/off my wireless connectiion with instance response. From off-> on, it will takes around 2 seconds to reinstiate my network.

X31? Any sling bag or backpack can do. Just get a slip on cover. Well, almost any, the one that won't do is something like the deuter aircomfort series with a curved back.

Of course, if you want added protection, check out the other threads about laptop carrying cases or backpack.

R40 users please help..

my R40 hanged several times alreadi when i opened media player 9 while i was running it on battery..when running in ac would not have such problem..

my lappy only have 256 ram..maybe ram not enuf??

anyone can help? thanx..

Hey Guys,

The AC Adaptor of my R40 is too hot everytime I uses it, in fact, you can't even hold it for more than 1 second because of the heat.

Does anyone also experience this? Actually my friend who bought the same unit as mine also experiences this. Is this normal or should I report it to IBM Support?

What do you think?

i put a old heat sink i have on my ac adaptor to help spread the heat... even after using for one whole day... still cool enuff to hold it in my hands... although quite hot i must say :c)

need help desperately

hi guys,

i am in london now and just bought a t40 here for studies. However, when i plug the LAN cable into my system...there isnt any light indication as suppose to be. the icon in XP also show that cable is unplug. Now i am not sure whether it is the fault of my system, the cable or the point on the wall. Tried to bring my system to my friends place and it also have the same problem. Any advice??? how to check which is the source?:bounce:

Took care of the prob at last

Working fine now, uninstalled IBM Access Connections, reinstalled all wireless drivers, including the CISCO driver, then reinstall Access Connections, Voila!!:bounce:

Maybe this might help:

1) Click Start->Settings->Network Connections->Local Area Connection.

It will enable your connection if it was disabled. At the same time disabled your wireless connection and see if it works.

need help in voice chat over firewalled network

hi,

i am in london and wish to chat with my parents in spore over voice chat like msn or yahoo messenger...however think the sch network has a firewall constructed thus disallowing me to perform the chat. anyone has any idea how to go around it or r there any other software that allows u to chat thru firewall?

icq allows for the tweaking of its network connection to go thru firewalls. That is why ppl can use it through company and offices firewalls.

Some of them got it at school price thats y it ithis cheap.. anyway i think most ibm dealers are offering pretty competitive prices as well now. Anyway their website prices are overated
