Just noticed that icoca + haruka changed their price based on destinations. Is it worth it to get this or just normal icoca if I am travelling to namba from airport?

If simply namba(nankai) to KIX, its 920 one way. IMO, no need Haruka.

ICOCA and Haruka for Children

Hi all

Sorry to dig out this old thread. I understand that ICOCA and Haruka is not available for children.

We are travelling with 2 adults and 2 children 6 and 9 years old from KIX airport to Kyoto. What should we do with the kids train tickets?

Is it cheaper that we buy 4 Kansai One Pass and Haruka tickets and buy 2 children ICOCA cards for children to travel in japan. Then let the adults use the 4 Kansai One pass in Japan in order to purchase the Haruka at a cheaper rate for the children? Or is there any better way?

Thank you!

I am not sure how great is the deal you are looking at but typically, the fares for Children are half the Adult price. Some promotional tickets/combo may not have a child fare but paying for the regular child fare may still work out to be cheaper than getting any promo tickets/combo that are meant for adults.
