Not much info on those previous ACCA student who choose to opt in for icpas.

you are inside the current JES programme, for acca students to choose the icpas plus route has nothing to do with the ICPAS PE(this thread title). Don't mix it up :)

So which mean that we are following the old route ?

This ICPAS PE is a set of examinations for non-local uni degrees to join the icpas as icpas associate(in which after 3 years become CPA). Nothing to do with ACCA leh pls.

The question you are asking is not relevant to this thread. You are in the JES before ACCA and ICPAS discontinuing their JES. So you are given 2 options while still in the ACCA programme.

1. ACCA route -> upon graduation you become acca affiliate, 3 years later become ACCA member. No links to ICPAS at all. However one may still be able to join ICPAS to become a CPA via the existing MRA(which is subjected to renewals also)

2. ICPAS Plus route -> upon graduation, you become acca affiliate, and also eligible to register as icpas associate. 3 years later you become ACCA member and CPA SG. (If you call this the 'old route', then yes. Choosing this route is as though nothing has changed.)

Would think that the question foremost on everyone's mind is whether UOL Accounting & Finance degree will be accepted for entry into the upcoming ICPAS QP.

UOL A&F DL degrees are recognized for entry into Australia CPA since 2010 so I guess the odds that ICPAS will recognize the UOL degrees in S'pore is rather high.

My hunch is telling me we won't get much exemptions, probably just one or two, max is for those who completed HRM ISORG and ELC.

For those without probably just have to take all but UOL A&F degree will be recognised as it was previously except need to fulfill the 3 electives. [guessing, not confirmed]

Anyway the CBT is own time own target, my only concern is that the fees are the same as the written tests which doesnt make sense to me.

Anyway this is ICPAS PE, it has nothing to do with the upcoming SQP(as of now) which requires everyone to take. Singapore Qualification Programme :: Home

what do u mean? i thought the new PE is part of the SQP?

SQP is still in the development how can it be part of it. :s13:

The new SQP requires non-acredited degrees to go through the gateway programme as seen in the discussion papers, only 3 local unis are accredited.

I think it will be similiar to ICAEW style whereby they want you to clock experience with ATO/ATE.

Anyway nothing is finalised in the SQP as of now, its open to public comments.

I am thinking of taking 4 written in Nov..

AM I CRAZY?

I think it depends how u manage. If you are doing it fulltime maybe might be able to make it for all 4.

Anyway any uol graduating students enrolled? Or do we need to wait for 17 aug for our final results to be out? I'm gonna email ICPAS PE soon, just checking if anyone knows. Any exemption for the 3 CBT?

Back then for under the old ICPAS-PE,you are only allowed to take 3 units for an academic term. Not too sure how it is now since things have changed. I am a uol accounting graduate who has taken hrm and isorg (exempted from contract law) and have my 3 units of exemption).

Check this for more info: ICPASPE > Applicants > How to Apply for PE

It is up to you which unit you like to take first.I won't really say an easier subject since this is a self study professional exams here.
