You think Thailand don’t have authority like BCA? BCA can’t possibly check everything, it’s simply unattainable.
Government should check everything...

2
like TW , Australia government not responsible to check building quality.
Australia private company approves TOP .

TS, can research more before you say. Different design of building suite different needs , without earthquake or with earthquake.

See how this Taiwan ,yes TW engineer explained the Thailand design not suitable for earthquake..
Same design very popular in other places.
Watch 5.00 minutes.
You can see different design for different heights.

Thailand

doesnt change the fact its the only building that collapsed in bangkok

See the amount of cut corner?

Supposedly one of the other bkk building that Kenna exposed after the earthquake. Lol looks like thick pillars but only empty shell, inside very thin pillar only

There is no evidence to say the hollow shell enclosing the thinner RC column inside isn't a design feature.

It could easily be a service duct built around the structural column.

Futhermore, it is built with brickwork, which has been proven to be easily deconstructed in earthquakes if not designed with appropriate tie backs to add additional structural stability.

This building looks quite old (probably over 15 years), the roof supporting structure is already rusted in many areas.

The roof is a lightweight structure, it doesn't need massive colums to support it.

This earthquake actually showed 100% of thai buildings passed earthquake shake... was expecting worst outcomes... The china building actually never passed safety inspection yet...

construction industry lots of sub con and coffee moolah. jack up quotation , different material not according to specs etc .

look at the thai CSI where they dig out a lot of stuff . including 97 900 baht ( $3900 sgd ) for 1 office chair for the whole collapse building govt project . now already suspecting the steel used is of different grade .

Wah, so many armchair expert here. Do you even graduated from civil engineering course to make such comment? BCA going to be very busy to answer all this non sense question. Lol.

It is well known concrete bond better with rusted steel. Alkaline condition in wet concrete and harderned concrete will chemically convert the rust and protect the steel from rusting.
In that case how to explain for spalling concrete where it was claimed to be caused by the rusting rebars.

If concrete does bond well with rusted steel, then should construction using non rusted steel be a problem with the bonding since I've seen some construction sites where tge rebars are not rusty.
