Shu-Han is deeply overrated in the San Guo Yan Yi novel. In San Guo Zhi actual history, Cao Cao's generals like Cao Ren have beaten Liu Bei's Tiger Generals like Zhao Yun and Guan Yu. Zhuge Liang's first campaign against Wei was was defeated by Cao Zhen, not Sima Yi.
1 v 1 is about 谁的功夫了得。
10000 vs 10000 is about 谁的计谋厉害。
打仗靠谋略。光有武力,匹夫也,like吕布。

It is not a healthy obsession.

Think and live in the present.

Prepare for the future.

Don't forget to take your meds!

though the population size and resource is still heavily in favor of CC, but he will have Jing Zhou, much easier to launch invasion against Chang-An and manage supply route also , for defence also got YangTze river and the mountainous Cheng-Du region.

wad u all think ?
Unfortunately that was not ZhugeLiang's plan. His plan was 东结孙权,北拒曹操。东吴 is always regarded as ally and diplomacy first always.

Nope. Dun think so. The moment Sun Quan broke alliance with Liu Bei. Both of them got no chance liao.

Wei too big for either one of them to eat.
they dun have talent general, if they got xiang yu or han xin or even baiqi , still got chance to duke it out with caocao

It will be an average country. Cos there is no enemy for big brother to fight. Communism is always needed even an essential. Peace too much for a small country like us maybe ok. But for a huge country, they are meat on the table. I wouldnt be surprise US kup with USSR to reap China earlier. Yes Mongolia might be united too by Russians. Taiwan could well become US base. Both cautiously eyeing the huge country.

Sanguo is a lesson to everyone as it happens even till now. Too small a country easily tio invade. Too big a country easily divided by beaurecracy. Best is medium size provinces or states each with its own army and adminstration kup together to form a country. Also the fact that unification is stupid, just for conqueror ego only. Its risks division.

US dun like CKS as much as MZD. But it hated Russia more. So CKS's reign will be fraught with challenges. One thing have to understand China became a powerhouse for manuf because of cheap labour, land and resources. Suppose it get westernised earlier, better education meant its TFR will start ticking countdown. And totally lose that advantage. Captialism corrupts everything it touches.

ZGL was very intelligent and a talent but I cannot understand why he chose a weak Liu Bei as his master.

liu bei was the weakest of the 3 warlords. and once guan yu was lost at jing province the dominos started falling.

cao cao had a deep talent pool

sun quan had the advantage of terrain as defense and motivated generals who are largely underrated and understated in history because all the attention on cao cao and liu bei. wu was largely uninterested in expansion but would be more than happy to take on anybody that wanted to take their territory.

No, even if Liu Bei won against Wu and secured Jing Province, it's unlikely he could have unified China alone. While securing Jing was crucial for the Longzhong Plan, he would still face the powerful state of Wei, a formidable enemy with a large army and a strong northern base. The war would continue, and success was not guaranteed, with the possibility of a prolonged conflict or a continued tripartite division.

Challenges to unification
  • Wei's power: Wei was the most powerful of the three states and remained a formidable threat even if Shu took Jing Province.
  • Wei-Wu alliance: Wei could have used the conflict between Shu and Wu as an opportunity to attack Shu from the north, as Wu had allied with Wei against Liu Bei historically.
  • Resource and manpower: Shu's resources were limited compared to Wei's, making a long-term war of attrition difficult.
  • Lack of a strong successor: Even if Liu Bei had won against Wu, the question of who would succeed him and lead Shu to unification remained. Historically, Liu Bei died shortly after his defeat against Wu, and his designated successor, Liu Shan, was not as capable a leader.

Significance of securing Jing Province
  • Longzhong Plan: Securing Jing was a crucial step in Liu Bei's Longzhong Plan, which aimed to take both Yi and Jing Province to create a strategic base for attacking Wei.
  • Strategic advantage: Jing Province was a strategic hub with access to the Yangtze River, which could be used for both military and economic purposes. Its loss severely hampered Shu's offensive capabilities against Wei.
  • Maintaining credibility: Liu Bei's attack on Wu was partly to restore his credibility after Wu had betrayed him and taken some of Jing's territory.

higher chance but no guarantee. there are too few talents under liu bei in general..I would think an underrated key factor is whether surviving wu officials would work under him. I dare say wu has more talents than shu
