Cannot change the outcome, but can still prepare for it and change the impact of the outcome.

From the given examples,
1) partner will stray, so can prepare mentally first. Those who wants to ownself play around, can use this as an equalizer. Those who wants to cut off ties, can refrain from having children, look for clues, catch the spouse red handed, file for divorce without alimony. Those more vindictive, can set up the condition/location of the affair (go on business trip, making own house as an attractive location, set up spy camera at home) then use this to wreck the spouse's life/reputation and/or blackmail the other party. Those looking to keep the marriage, befriend the other party, feed them ED drugs...

2) kenna rape - again prep location with spy cams or install in handbag etc for evidence. Maybe offer virginity to a loved one first. Take the pill beforehand. Wear anti rape condom:
