Hi,

A friend of mine recently gave me a form to fill up to open an account with iFast.

He just opened his own account too because we were both going to "try our hands" with DIY investing.

A search online didnt really turn up any reviews on iFast, also their official website did not state the percentages of their charges.

Any bros here using iFast? Or have any more information about iFast?

Is your fren an agent? Their website do state the platform fee and so on. For sales charge and wrap fee it will be determine by the agent.

iFast is a platform for agents and their clients, where agents can help their clients manage their investment.

You won't find it very popular here because

1) Fees are fairly high, considering that you can purchase unit trusts through Poems or DollarDex with zero fees. That's zero sales charge, zero redemption charge, zero switching fee, zero platform fee

2) Does not have access to the London Stocks Exchange, where we buy our Ireland-domiciled global equities ETFs.

Don't bother la. ifast is more expensive than their competitors. Dollardex gives zero sales charge and zero platform fees. Can ifast do that? no. They will tell you that the DIY investing is tagged to an ifast "investment advisor", who is actually just an agent. Their so called advisors all earn via commissions one. So there is conflict of interest. The more you invest / trade, the more they earn. They just wan to keep your money parked there as long as possible so they can earn more fees. The standard of their advisors is really horrible. There was this thin lady, some director of investment advisory (means agent director, also 100% earn through comms only), who will tell you that the etf or mutual fund can make 30-40% a year. She will tell you that ifast has a big research team. But when she fail to deliver what she promised, she will blame everything on the research team, say they give her wrong info. She will tell you that she invest in the same fund, but cannot show you that her own investment account can make 30-40% a year. She charges sales charge and management fee, my friend manage to bargain with her by saying other platform have lower fees and that no one will pay such ridiculous fees. If you do your own due diligence and start questioning her investment methodology and numbers, she will be unprepared to answer your questions. She will just point to the research team or some expert, or worse come to worse, she will say that she was formerly some head or director of scb, implying you are peasant and not qualified enough to question her. If you expose her bs, she will react angrily and imply you have no brain. There is no value added for the extra fees that you are paying. The turnover rate of advisors is quite high, my own advisor has left less than a year. Heard that internally is quite messed up. In ifast, different advisors charge different fees so my advice is you shop around the advisors and find the cheapest and most knowledgeable one. Anyway their research team publish their research on their website free for all to use. If you absolutely want to pay cheaper or no fees, use dollardex instead or other brokers. They will tell you that they are the biggest platform for funds, but do you really need to many funds? You also at most invest in 10 funds right? The 10 best performing funds other platforms also have.

Maybe you got a different advisor. My advisor advise me the full range. With IGM, you can DIY or advisor assisted. Selling commission is $8 compared to FSMone $10 for DIY for sgx

People are buying at dbs vickers uofront (to deposit shares to cdp) and selling at IGM from CDP account linked. Maybe a change in advisor is needed.

So am I right to say that the wrap fee is agent's commission?
