Hi,

I just bought the IFI from you yesterday. Could I check with you if the Ican is powerful enough for the Beyer T1?

Technically it would be powerful enough and also because the T1's driver is using Beyer's Tesla technology which makes it an efficient headphones even it is 600ohms. But how well it would sound will be subjected to individual preferences.

Yes it can. Would recommend the full size iCan if you're looking for a desk setup.

Would iCan benefit the sound quality and bass in this case?

While it is a good amp, the HD800 did sound lean when pair with the iCan.
I had the iCan for a few months to drive the HD800 and TH600.
The bass from the HD800 sounds a bit lacking and I ended up using the bass boost switch most of the time.
The HD800 also need to be driven a bit loud to bring out the bass, but then treble can get hotter also and a bit fatiguing for prolong listening.
IMO, you need a more powerful amp to drive the HD800.

Second to what widget said, with the bass switch the bass of the HD800 will be better but would be subjected to your preference also. Nonetheless it as compare to the iDAC I would find that it can drive the HD800 better.

Listening to mostly vocal stuffs ripped to FLAC and played through VOX. Sounds just fantastic. A few notes

1. Itube really sings only after 15 minutes.
2. Itube can get quote hot.
3. 3D doesn't really work well with my set of headphones.
4. Some noticeable distortion of musical instruments.

But seriously, I am beginning to doubt if this will really work with the higher impedence headphones like HD800 or the T1. Need to go audition one of these days.

regarding the distortion, have you tried with lower gain?

imo hd800 and t1 deserve a better rig.
