Are we allowed to advertise our iherb referral code in our signature?

Why are only certain people getting infracted for doing so?

Dear xerref,

You have received an infraction at www.hardwarezone.com.sg.

Reason: Unsolicited Content (Commercial solicitation / Ads / Referrals / Spam)
-------
Advertising in signature

Quote:

1st time iHerb users - get 10% off using my code - TAT262

-------

This infraction is worth 3 point(s) and may result in restricted access until it expires. Serious infractions will never expire.

All the best,
www.hardwarezone.com.sg

I also wonder.

Some mods also put in iherb links in signature.

Why am I not surprised there is no reply from HWZ Admin?

I understand there is a need to keep order in a forum but apply different rules for different folks? :s22:

I noticed 483 views just now but no response.

Are you insisting they give you a reply because you are
1) obstinate,
2) looking for trouble, or
3) feeling maligned,
4) seeking the truth,
5)

Can you fill in the blanks?

Dear Member,

Thanks for bringing this to our attention. We have removed/closed the signatures/posts/threads where there are referral links.

Do be assured that you are not being targeted, but we are obligated to look into matters if other users file reports. We have similarly moderated the content that you have brought to our attention as the removal of your referral links.

Examples where other users are allowed to use/advertise their codes in their signature or posts;

www.hardwarezone.com.sg - View Single Post - [Fan Club] LCHF Lifestyle - Part 3

http://forums.hardwarezone.com.sg/h...-309/wtshare-$10-discount-coupon-4802966.html

iHerb free international shipping - www.hardwarezone.com.sg

Not trying to stir ****, but just wondering why a particular group seems to be targeted for this offense.

xerref,

Looks like Admin was forced to do something, just like CASE, otherwise things look bad.

But I think the point for HWZ Admin to note is - Please do not make this an infraction.

I agree with Carey,

Admin sucks - this is not a solicitation right?

So how does an iHerb code in the signature be considered solicitation?

I would like to think we live in a modern, liberal society, where everyone has free will and freedom of choice. There is no coercion, no agenda etc.

The iHerb code is there for convenience, for sharing & a way for newbies of saying thanks "because I like your active participation in the HWZ Forum because I learnt so much from you."

We are already living in a nanny state and it looks this HWZ forum is also being policed in the same authoritarian style by micro managing iHerb codes?

Lets hear from everyone about this.

What The !

I used an external link to my excel file, I got banned! :(
I see others used it in so many threads
but when I used it I got banned again. :(

I suspect some vigilantes are making complaints against a few of us but how come some members run wild splashing their codes with impunity?

Nasty & suspicious! Perhaps these vigilantes are making complaints to wipe out the "competition" so that their preferred buddies grab all the biz?

Look at the link posted by xerref above, this http://forums.hardwarezone.com.sg/search.php?searchid=22692778 chongsang has absolutely zero contribution in terms of sharing knowledge, information, suggestions, opinions, whatnots etc to the HWZ forum. But he has 48 posts openly advertising his iherb code, easy peasy! :vijayadmin:

For those who have already received infraction, posting their iHerbcodes again means they risk being banned!

Unbelieveable!

HWZ Admin.
are the complaints from certain vigilante members?

Seriously? The marketeer may be Banned but the marketing thread that is wholly his, is still there macam no diff or effect - http://forums.hardwarezone.com.sg/o...46/iherb-referral-code-signature-4866581.html

Back to my comment earlier -

So lets active helpful members have their SIC with iHerb codes so that a 2 way beneficial exchange is win-win for everyone.
