You make an ebook site that doesn't support mainstream ereaders - daft or what?

This is also quite ridiculous. Seems to be not their fault but how Adobe DRM works? This makes Kindle's DRM actually seem much better lol

From my point of view, it can't make it because of
1) over-pricing
2) drm

IMO, over-pricing is the most important factor for its demise. The ebook prices are just 10% to 20% less than p-books.

Surprisingly one person interviewed by ST said that the discount is already very good, otherwise it would cannibalise the pbook market.

I totally disagree. For ebooks, vendors should expect to sell the books much cheaper than pbooks, but try to make up for it through quantity.

The local ebook vendors don't understand the ebook market. Their demise is not unexpected.

You missed an impt point. No monopoly. From Mocca to ST701 to many other investment overseas, many failures when these T companies have no monopoly. Now look at SMRT to Fairprice to STE, with the big boss in the back ground diverting business to them, they huat until buay lin choo.

They didn't fail because they didn't have big boss backing.

They *could* start because they had big boss backing.
Who else in the right mind would think that their business model can make it at all?!



I have always detested them for calling themselves 'i love books'.
I think that DRM for books is ridiculous and insulting to book lovers.
