As stated above, which is preferred?

Planning to get an IMAC.

Mainly for surfing net, work on Microsoft office, browsing of PDF, photo editing and YouTube. Not into gaming. (Is flash drive model required)

As I observed the price different between the size is not huge.

I would prefer a bigger screen but is 5k display necessary for the extra cost?

27 inch price difference is little.

As I read certain forum, it is recommended to upgrade the harddisk to Fusion harddisk for a faster speed. Which I calculate to cost around 400 more.

Yes, please go for the fusion drive at least. My office is using the 21.5 retina with default hdd, slower than the (2010?) 21.5 iMac that it replaced. I read online that it's due to the HDD.

Noted, thanks Calvin. An upgraded Retina 21.5" IMAC with fusion drive cost around 400 lesser than the 27" IMAC. Just wandering if it is worth the extra money. Delimma.

If space is not a concern, definitely go for 27" iMac. BIGGER IS ALWAYS BETTER.

The 5K iMac is actually very value for money. If you were to go for a 27" 4K monitor, it will not be much cheaper.

I got the late 2014 model at last year's Sitex for $2109 with freebies. The same model was originally selling for $3388.

Apple resellers slashing prices for the older models once a new one is released. Just like what they are doing with the MacBook now.
