iMac vs MBP Display

Hi.. I just got my hands on a 27" iMac 2013 model and when compare side by side with my 15" MBP 2010 model, I noticed the display got quite a bit of difference.

The iMac default colour profile (iMac) seems abit to the warmer (yellowish) temperature, whereas the MBP default colour profile (Colour LCD) seems abit to the colder (blueish) temperature.

Also if were to compare white background (eg: finder window or empty page of a browser) I realize that my MBP's white is more "pure" and "whiter" compared to my iMac.

I heard that every iMac was software calibrated by Apple, so is it safe to use the default calibrated settings by Apple? As I have also tried to calibrate but couldn't match to my MBP settings.

Anyone with an iMac and MBP experiencing this issue?

I have the rMBP 2012 instead of the cMBP. So my comparison is, the rMBP has deeper blacks and sharper whites while I don't get yellowish with my iMac.

MBPs bought in 2009-2010 tend to come with cooler screens. I have a preference for cooler whites instead of yellower ones, hence from my point of view, those models of MBP have the truest white.

If you are using the default callibrator included, practice kind of makes perfect. You'd have to try a few times to get it right.

yeah. my MBP have that kind of true white that my iMac doesnt have.

so to say different batches of MBPs/iMacs will have different screen settings? eg. the current ones now are all to the yellowish side?
