hi guys, my apple id only registers my mobile sim number on my iphone, now i have another number for use with my ipad but i cant receive sms on it. how?

You can only receive iMessage on your iPad and that has to be the same number as your iPhone linked to your Apple ID.

You can also receive normal text messages on your iPad sent to your iPhone number if you have Continuity configured on your devices.

If you planning to receive SMS on your iPad using the new number: that's not possible.
The iPad is not like any other Tablets running Android OS that can make cellular calls/SMS like how a phone normally does.
