I think DBS has set up some parameters in the system. If you do not meet those parameters, it will not be approved. Do you know whats your CBS score? I think they may have auto retrieve the CBS score to assess if you need the criteria.

Its my 2nd application actually :/ the previous one was maybe a month or 2 ago? That time my monthly salary did not hit 2.5k yet but i thought if bonuses was included then my annual would be more than 30k but it got rejected as well :/

I assume you used manual submission of documents?

I waited 8 months after I started earning above the min amt then applied using MyInfo with Singpass.

OCBC immediate approval, DBS approved next day.

But after approval, i realised I'm not really a credit card guy, checking which restaurant or store has discounts/rebates/points for which card etc. etc.

pain in the ass...

This has happened to me with UOB. 55 seconds after submitting the application (based on time stamps in acknowledgement and denial text messages) on their website, I was declined for the UOB One card.

Only thing I can think of is that I was once before denied by UOB when I applied for - also the One card if I recall correctly - about 2 months after I relocated to Singapore a few years ago.

No denials by Citibank before then - 1 month and 3 days after I moved here and had a single salary slip to show - and no other bank since.

Flawless credit history. 0.14% probability of default is probably too much for UOB?

Based on ABS guidelines, so long as you have applied for a new credit facility, you are entitled to a free credit report. You should have received a letter of rejection from them. You can use the letter to go down to CBS office to reject. If you didn't get the letter, call DBS to get one. At least from the report, you can get a sense what could have caused the rejection, looking at your score and reason for the weak score, if any.

Remembered you asked previously :s13:
Just bring your money elsewhere
I went back to check using computer, using my salary crediting information. I don't know how they compute my monthly salary is $2575 now.
(I applied DBS altitude about 5months ago before bonus etc so probably the value is lower when they rejected me)

Applied Dbs CC 1 month into my previous employment with pay > 2.5k provided employment letter, payslip/cpf statement and was rejected than I applied citibank and got approved after explaining to the CSO that my pay included fixed allowance thou basic is below 2.5k.

Reapplied Dbs cc with 3 months cpf statement and it got approved. Currently owned 8 CC with AA credit rating.

Once you have at least 1 bank approval and you have credit rating it will be easier to get approval.

Rejected for Secured Card

3 years ago, I was made bankrupt due to business failure. But I managed to re-pay the debt in full and obtained an Annulment from IPTO 2 months ago which removes all public records, including on CBS. Trying to rebuild credit score slowly by going to my current bank (UOB) and opening a FD for a secured card. But got rejected. Tried to appeal, and got rejected again. I earn $180k p.a for the past 2 years++ while being employed by an MNC and UOB is my salary crediting bank. Out of ideas already :s22:

Update: SCB approved me and got my card a week later. Don’t understand the fuss with UOB.

Huh. Your experience is directly opposite of mine. I apply cards everywhere, including UOB, and easily get approved. But so far both my SCB applications kena declined.

Goes to show one thing: we can’t deduce a pattern with how the banks approve or reject applications haha
