Jetpets quoted me about $1,500 (iirc) to ship a Japanese Spitz puppy back in 2014. This includes picking up from the breeder, boarding fees, import & export permits, vet check and airfare. You will need to go to the airline freight terminal and collect the airwaybill, present the document to the customs and/or quarantine authorities for local clearance purposes.

It depends on the city of departure. I asked for quote to transport 2 tibbies from BNE to SG, the price range from A$2.3k to A$2.9k. An ANKC breeder in Melbourne asked for my behalf and the price is closed to A$1.8k.

Please beware of scams though. The safer choice is approach breeders in dogzonline but even that does not guarantee safe. Import from overseas carries risk as you have no control after making the full payments, which is required unless it is a scam which only asked for you to pay shipping fees 1st.

I would like to adopt or get locally if possible but unfortunately Tibetan Spaniel is not easy to find in Singapore....

I paid A$1950 for two kittens inclusive of all paperworks, custom clearance and vaccination. He was my breeder's appointed transporter. For feline, I found my breeder's profile via feline register bodies. I started with cattery webpage browsing, shortlisted a few and then wrote to them individually. Many breeders do not ship internationally especially Asia. Important to read more about your selected breeder. It took me more than 9 months to get my kittens. I paid my transportation fees after received my kitten, apparently he didn't demand for advanced payment. In total I paid less than $4k for two pedigree kittens. Local petshops are selling at 3800-4500 per kitten.

I used Dogtainers as they were recommended by my breeder. Paid $1.2k to ship my german shepherd over to Singapore. They will do everything, just get them to fill up the AVA application form for export thats all.

Hi, negativzero, how's your GSD? I want to import a German Shepherd puppy from Australia, but most of the breeders won't ship their puppies overseas unless I have contactable references in Australia. Did you encounter it as well? May I know your breeder name if possible?

I've done some research on it. It's not easy to import a dog, but doable. Australia is listed as a Category A country, so the import procedures should be the simplest. But the breeders usually do not want to export their puppies. They have a lot of concerns about their puppies' potential owners, and some demand to have a local reference.
I find most of the cat breeders in Australia are willing to export their kittens. Maybe having a cat does not need as much commitment as keeping a dog? Just an interesting fact to share.

IMPORTING YOUR PET DOG/CAT INTO SINGAPORE
1. Please check if your pet dog/ cat can meet our import requirements. Our Veterinary
Conditions for the Importation of Dogs/Cats under different categories can be
obtained from our website at http://www.ava.gov.sg/explore-by-se...-exporting/bringing-in-transshipping-dogscats.
Please note that countries are categorised due to the rabies risk. Please refer
to the veterinary conditions for more information.
2. If your pet dogs/cats are coming from a country belonging to Category C or D, they
will need to undergo quarantine upon arrival in Singapore. You may apply for a
quarantine space at https://qms.ava.gov.sg/public/login.aspx as early as 6 months
prior to your pet’s arrival in Singapore. You need to attach a copy of your pet dog/cat
valid rabies vaccination records/certificates and its serology test report to show that it
has an acceptable rabies antibody levels with the online reservation. Please note
that the blood sampling for the serology test has to be done within 6 months of
export. After AVA has approved the reservation, a deposit will need to be made to
confirm the reservation. Please note that the deposit is non-refundable.

breeder arranged everything but not cheap.

however, I would say the price is similar or lower than if you were to go to local pet shops selling imported Australia puppies as pet shops have to earn

collection from freight centre quite doable. please drive there though

Yes you will need a referral to assist you in getting a outlook from Australia from the good breeders.
