Impression after LHL speech

To be rational, i watched the rally online with my colleagues, with a neutral mindset.

For the entire hour, there was no concrete plans on what the ruling party shall do for Singapore, 50 years from now.

All i heard was, Lee Kuan Yew, gutter politics by discrediting the opposition based on opinions rather than facts, impressions and not credibility backup by facts.

This is entirely disappointing. If they are indeed that credible, why are the people unhappy? Are we willing to sacrifice 4 more years again without knowing any of the plans laid out for us?

Given a choice if i would risk having more opposition in parliament than incumbent, vs having the entire parliament filled with yes-mans whom tells us "trust me" without revealing any plans, sorry, if i had not issued a blank cheque before, i will not issue it now.

how can citizens vote for a party with no concrete plans and relying on past glories?!?! surely there is a need to explain right?

It was the perfect opportunity to do so.

I tell u la.. is like a chicken farm owner asking a consultant how to increase profit.

The consultant says "easy, we just keep increase the number of chickens in the farm, then profit will grow lo".. but this consultant never considers when u keep increase number of chickens in a fixed small area, the chickens will get sick easily, too crowded, quality drop due to decrease in quality of life and eventually the whole chicken will kana virus and be wiped out.

Thats the way pinky is solving all the problems.

i was astonished. we, were like, ok this is the chance to explain everything. the stage is set. but no, nothing was being spelt out. i'm not even sure if any details will be revealed in the rest of rallies. this is like the most tok kong one with widest media coverage.

Eh but seriously what else u wanna know?

Isn't the Budget announced in Feb and the recent NDR not enough for you to know the Govt plans? Just wondering how on earth are the PAP able to come up with new plans ever so often especially after the recent NDR annoucements?

It is more than just concrete plans after plans at each and every rallies. They (and i mean all parties) do try to play your emotional and other stuff in order to win votes.

If PAP are so far vague about their plans for us Singaporeans, means they either haven't figured it out yet, or rather have a free reign after elections are over to do as they please where they see fit. Not us citizens, but PAP themselves decide what path to go onto and that's that.

They just cross their fingers we are so grateful for what we have now that we continue supporting them with eyes closed no matter how their performance is.

No of concrete plan revealed/reiterated = 1 (building of uni at punggol)

No of times LKY name literally mentioned = 17

No of times LKY ribbon appeared = 1

Overall message : We did well with our pioneer Ministers , please just trust the current ones to do well in future. Add in a few insinuations of oppositions not being able to handle TC and also dodgy past reputations.

Precisely!
Increasing number of chickens is just a quick fix, not a credible long term solution.
Plus how big is your farm? There's a limit to how many chickens you can squeeze.

Precisely, moi take great pain and mental torture to watch through a few higher mortal rally speech online last week and also have same impression. They have nothing to offer in solving the daily concerns we have now.

All their focus are mostly on estate management, make pot shot at opp candidate, first 40yrs of SG50 track records, make pot shot at opp candidates, LKY, make pot shot at opp candidates, and how we should blindly trust them until SG100, then make another pot shot at opp candidates.

Yet they have the cheek to shoot down oppie manifesto. At the very least oppie got make effort to try address our concerns, whether can work or not they no chance to try out anyway but their heart and sincerity ish there. But higher mortals one all moi see ish smoke and rainbow plus gutter politics, nothing concrete not even on how to solve the public transport problem cause by overpopulation (unless you dumb enough to think more stations more lines more new trains\buses mean more efficient transport then moi really don't know what to say and stomp feet) but simply ask us to give them blind faith that they can bring us another SG50.

My impression is that they are clueless and they are simply going to do the same old thing while the world around then evolves rapidly.
