hi, i have a prebuilt dell system vostro 270 and i wanted to play some games on it. therefore i added a psu,gtx560ti and extra 8gb ram.
however during bf4@high setting at 900p, my gtx 560ti reached 90degree on full load. i supposed that my airflow is not very good. any idea how to improve my airflow?
i dont have much knowledge about cable management in a non-cable-management case and this dell case dont not have any front intake fan. only have a stock 80mm outtake fan.
i only have enough money to buy 2 to 4 120mm fan at USD 10 each but not enough money to buy a new pc case at USD 80.

put in more fans to improve the airflow should lower the temp

tidy up the cable, tie them up dont block the airflow from front to back

with only the possibility of 1 80mm case fan, "airflow is not very good" is an understatement. post #3 is your only option unless you are willing to modify your case to support more case fans.

Lmao might as well stop those fans from moving the case probably can see the raise in temperature. But still throwing all these craps definitely increase the temperature.

These kind of OEM desktop are good for office use, not suitable for gaming.

Must buy 80USD /110SGD case? Rather than 4 casefans at 40USD /55SGD, you can get a budget case for around that price.

Maybe start with a matx case that supports 3 fans. If you recycle the dell fan, the new case will usually come with one stock, that gives you two. If you really tight for funds, and save up and add the last one later.

Dunno how good this case is, but it costs close to your S$55 budget at S$58.

on a side note, some of the "OEM" MB might have their own custom dimension and will not fit 3rd part case, best to measure it before purchase

Dell tends to use proprietary parts so I'm not sure a new casing is the solution.

Best option is to remove side panel when gaming. The 560Ti is a hot card. Another option is to remove the unused 5.25" panels.

Yup, true, always best to check and confirm first. Did read somewhere that the dell system vostro 270 has a standard matx with standard holes. Best to double check.

Beside your PC chassis, the thermal paste on your 4-5yo GTX 560 Ti would have dried up + dust accumulated within its heatsink and around fan could rather be the main contributor to the graphics card's high temp.

One disadvantage of buying pre-built PC. :(

actually that is precisely the findings. there is only thermal impact if the fans themselves are physically completely impeded from moving air, having super messy cable management has very little thermal impact, the main benefit is aesthetics. air has it ways of moving around things due to it's extremely low viscosity, large amount of messy cables will have very little impact on total airflow through the case.

gtx560ti is a hot card? will changing to a gtx750ti/gtx950 lower the temperature to 70degree? as i can sell my gtx560ti and get a gtx750ti at SDG $50 more
