Equipment
NAS: SYNOLOGY 214SE
HD: 1X SEAGATE 4TB 5900RPM
ISP: M1 150MBPS
NETWORK: 5GHZ
ROUTER: ASUS AC66U RUNNING MERLIN LASTEST FIRMWARE
LAPTOP: SURFACE PRO

I tried to upload files to synology file station, but my speed top out at 4mb/s.
Theoretically how much i can hit, considering the router is about 20m away and im not using direct lan?

Experts please advise!!:)

The 5GHz signal has a short range though the throughput is higher. You need a repeater ti extend 5GHz signal.

Actually nothing alarming. Surface pro uses 2x2 antenna wireless N Wi-Fi. Anandtech review pointed out a decent 80+mbps in their Wi-Fi (5ghz) test which well, if translated to layman terms, getting 4-6 MB/s transfer to nas is acceptable.
