In Ceca investor eyes, 6 billions means a lot that can defeat all the rivals in the region.

Never know a terminal in SG already worth way more than that investment amount.

Ermmm wouldn't this help to spur their economy ?
U know the obor bad debts?

building expensive projects which doesn’t have the demand and wouldn’t yield the results means politicians getting benefits and country getting the debts which is why u get this weird phenomenon in many countries where president is pro-China but rest of gov and country is opposite

to get a return, the place must be able to attract the passengers. They can’t fight with sg, Bangkok etc on that. Somemore it is next to aceh and in the midst of omicron

1. They are heng it is not a chinese firm, else Sumatra might be ceded to them liao.
2. why would they want to throw $6bn down the drain?
3. Never say never though, they hope to rival MY and even SG, having a goal to spur you on is a good thing. even if it is a race to unattainable heights
Last time got some mayor of Taipei say will surpass Sg, what happened afterwards?

Isn't that airport new? build another?

every time Indonesia say they build airport they always say will rival Changi.

When Jakarta T3 open they said Changi is no where close to them. But when I was there, T3 domestic for budget is a barn house.

T3 for international is a terminal with a lousy user experience. no inter terminal connection. There's a bus but it looks more like the US yellow school bus, need to climb step to get up (meaning gg if u have luggage)

you can spend 100b and build an airport in the middle of wakanda jungle with gold plated handrails and diamond encrusted door handles but no one will use it if it is a detour out of their flight path, and if their luggage habitually gets lost due to handling issues

North Sumatra. Near Medan to be exact. Why don't don't build on Kalimantan? Wait. The new capital is not up?

I don't think it is funny.

When they build a new airport, they will ask SG to handover the Riau Islands airspace. It will delay Changi airport flight schedule and cause delays and dent Changi airport competitiveness.

Indonesia is rich and big enough to afford a loss making airport. It's no big deal to them.
